For the fourth year in a row, Amsterdam will once again roll out the blue carpet and host its internationally-renowned Denim Days festival from 17 to 23 April.
Having established itself as the new hub for the global denim industry, Amsterdam’s love for denim shows no signs of stopping. From the Jean School and Denim City to its world-class brands and retailers, Amsterdam continues to attract denim gurus from around the globe. Amsterdam Denim Days is here to celebrate all things indigo.
“Amsterdam is a city that looks good in denim. It’s the denim capital of the world, multiple international brands have located their headquarters here and with that the number of denim brands in Amsterdam grew and grew.” – Martien Mellema, creative director of Vogue Netherlands (excerpt from interview in Carl Goes Amsterdam)
The festival is back for its fourth edition with new additions including a pavilion to spotlight the future of denim. Setting Amsterdam Denim Days apart from any other denim-related event is the full scale and scope of its reach. During its one-week run, denim industry insiders gather in Amsterdam to do business at the (invitation-only) Kingpins Amsterdam trade show; denim lovers shop for cutting-edge styles at the Denim Market; retailers and brands interact with denim fans on a completely unique level as members of the same community at the Blueprint Festival. Nowhere else does this mix of business, community and creativity exist in the denim industry.
17-23 April, city centre programme: A seven-day denim experience
The city of Amsterdam celebrates its world-class denim stores with tailored product launches, presentations, exhibitions and special offers. These experiences are open to everyone but are geared towards the denim obsessive. 21-22 April, Blueprint Festival: A two-day denim spectacle at Westergasfabriek area
